July Love With Food box review

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

For those who don't know Love With Food  is a great snack box subscription that delivers "great food for a great cause". The cost is $12 a month ($10 + $2 shipping) for a box full of gourmet food items, none of which have I ever seen before so far. A Great thing about love about Love With Food is that they donate a meal to a hungry child for each box they send out, so you are not only giving yourself a monthly treat box but also donating a meal every month. They also offer a points program that you review the items you've sampled for points to later redeem for your favorite food items (just like Birchbox)

The Theme this month was "under the boardwalk" which is cute, and I suppose is a big part of many childhood memories...but I am a girl from North west Texas... this was not an experience I have ever had... so I can't say the box bring back memories, and since I don't have the boardwalk memories... but I can still appreciate yummy... I have to say I did get 3 of these little red boxes this month because I have learned we like these...stock up

Twangerz Snack Toppings(salt) .  Lime, Chili Lime, Lemon Lime, and Pickle Salt Flavors. I am a salt fan, I am a fan of weird toppings and I think these will be used on popcorn, french fries (except the pickle...maybe on a specialty sandwich?) I did give a box to the princess and her boyfriend.. I am thinking they used their salts to go with alcoholic beverages (ah, to be in your early 20s again)

Vermont Real Sticks BBQ- ummm..yes please, you caught that I am a Texas girl things , right??? Actually this was pretty dang good (good enough I didn't share even though I still had two boxes after sending one with the princess)

Lord Nut Levington Spicy Bloody Mary Peanuts= these are pretty awesome, with a nice flavor to them (so unusual, you just want more) and I really like the packaging...reminds me of a Harlequin novel from the old English 1700's type era.

Uncle Henry's Handmade Pretzels - These are sourdough pretzels and I had really high hopes for them (I LOVE sourdough, I like pretzels .. I just didn't like these... I know most of you did...I didn't...maybe I just like my pretzels soft...

KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn this was Hawaiian salted caramel- I don't know about the hawaiian part but this popcorn was the BOMB...I am not even ashamed I ate it all....

Nature's baby fig bar (strawberry) OMG... that's all I need to say.... I need more of these!!

Angel Mint Orange Taffy- these were very good, are all natural..so the best of both worlds

Necco wafers- Yes, a nostalgia candy... they are OK... not my favorite, but I won't turn them down either you know

As usual I was happy with my Love With Food Box, not everything was a 100% hit, but hey... we all have different tastes... I am 95% happy and I always am.... that is why I got 3 of these....

Want one for our self...did I mention it's only $12.00 a month (10 plus 2 shipping)

  1. I was really excited when I opened my box. It seemed like I would most things in it, not quite though. My faves were the fig bar and taffy. I also thought the pretzels should have been soft. :)

  2. I just love the snack boxes and trying different things. But what sold me on this is they donate a meal to a child for every box they send out ... How awesome is that!
