WEGO health activist challenge day 19 (vintage photo of self)

Today’s Prompt:
  • Post a vintage photo of yourself, with a caption about the photo and where you were in terms of your health condition.

at work

This photo was taken in 2005 I believe  I didn't realize I was sick yet and actually when we look back on my medical records it is evident this time period was the beginning of my journey with AOSD...I had fevers, fatigue and elevated white blood cell counts...although all the Dr's I worked with assumed I had chronic mono from dealing with our patients (there was an unusual amount of mono that year with our patient population) not to mention being over worked and stressed (I was working a 65 hr week usually and was a single mom)

There was no way for me or for my co workers or I to  know what was just around the corner or that these early insignificant symptoms that were so "normal" and could be so benign were the beginning of a battle I would be in for the rest of my life.

Obviously I was still working (see the stethoscope around my neck) and was still of my normal weight and activity level... sometimes it is hard to look back from a physical standpoint...I think the change in my appearance sometimes is the hardest to for me to "look at and see"
